Job description: Title: Senior Geoint Standards DeveloperLocation: Springfield, VAClearance Required: Active DOD TS/SCI Security ClearanceEmployment Type: Full-time, On-siteposition SummaryModern Government Solutions (MGS) is looking for an experienced senior level Geoint Standards Developer to join our team! This individual will be responsible for writing requirements, ensuring capability standards, and meeting government agency and partner requirements, among other things.Responsibilities (not limited to):
- Writes GEOINT requirements as standards adopted by US and international organizations.
- Ensure that capability standards for GEOINT data, geospatial data, GEOINT, and APIs meet agency and partner requirements.
- Develop ontologies and guiding conceptual and logical models at the enterprise, segment, and solution level, spanning multiple specialized domains.
- Collaborate, test, and assist others in the development and use of geospatial standards.
- Responsible for maintaining the progress and official description of the enterprise dataset.
- Support capturing and managing metadata and information sources from across the enterprise, including data sets, business intelligence reports, visualizations, and conversations.
- Work with GEOINT standards data modeling languages to support life cycle management of data standards developed that support Agency and NSG initiatives and acquisition programs.
- Enforces naming standards and metadata standards, checks models in and out of the model repository, and documents data model translation decisions.
- Help update and manage MySQL, MS-ACCESS structures (tables, columns) and content.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Active Department of Defense (DOD) TS/SCI security clearance.
- Experienced technical writer.
- Working knowledge using MySQL or other relational databases.
- Working knowledge of MS-Excel files.
- Experience working with GEOINT metadata.
- GEOINT domain experience.
- Experience working with dimensional modeling data.
- Working knowledge of relational database construction.
- Understanding of Unified Modeling Language (UML) class diagrams, object-based modeling concepts, and basic concepts of logical data models.
- Experience using visualizations, features, spatiotemporal data, metadata catalogs, and coordinate reference systems related to current OGC standards and industry best practices.
- Working knowledge of the following software languages, GitLab or GitHub, HTTP REST API, XML and JSON.
- Working knowledge of logical query expressions such as SQL, XML or JSON filters.
Preferred Skills and Abilities
- Experience with Collibra, Informatica or related data governance tools.
- Experience working with dimensional modeling data.
- Experience translating/mapping relational data models to XML and schema.
- Experience with object-based modeling concepts and basic concepts of logical data models.
- Familiar with the major varieties of JSON (JSON-LD, GeoJSON, JSON-B, etc.).
- To become familiar with Simple Knowledge Organization System (SKOS).
